Cycle Shepway are very pleased to be assisting Arcadis Consulting UK Ltd (the transport consultants appointed to advise on the new Otterpool development) to develop ideas for a walking and cycling network associated with the development. CySy were invited to attend an online meeting with Arcadis on 20 May 2020 and were represented by our treasurer Alan Joyce, and also by Paul Rees (also representing Spokes), whilst Fiachra de Bhulbh represented the consultants.

Alan and Paul reported that the discussion was positive and broad-ranging discussion, and covered such issues as creating local cycling and walking links between Otterpool, Sellindge and Brockhill. The discussion also covered how to enhance direct and safe routes into Cheriton, Folkestone and Hythe, making use of existing paths and cycleway as far as possible. The Cycling Strategy that Cycle Shepway helped to instigated is proving very helpful in deciding some of these important new links.

We will keep you updated of progress!
